Victorian 18ct Gold Old-Cut Diamond Gypsy Ring (Dated 1899)

A beautiful antique gypsy-set diamond ring crafted in solid 18ct gold, centred with a single old-cut diamond of approximately 0.50ct. The diamond is securely star-set into a broad, polished gold band, a classic and enduring design closely associated with late Victorian jewellery.

The diamond appears to be an old European to early brilliant cut, showing lively sparkle and pleasing colour, typical of stones cut in the late 19th century. Inside the band is a hand-engraved inscription reading “16 Jan y 99”, most likely dating the ring to 16th January 1899. Such inscriptions were commonly added to commemorate significant moments such as a wedding, engagement, or anniversary, adding genuine personal and historical interest.

The ring shows light, age-related surface wear consistent with its age but remains in very good antique condition overall, with the diamond secure and presenting beautifully.

Returns

We accept returns within 14 days of receiving your order. Once the item is received and inspected, we’ll issue a full refund minus shipping costs.

Returns must be sent via a fully insured, tracked, and signed-for postal service at the customer’s expense.

Items must be returned in their original condition, unaltered, undamaged, and in the original packaging.

For international returns, please mark the parcel clearly as “Returned Goods” to avoid import charges. Any fees incurred by us due to incorrect labelling will be deducted from the refund amount.
